STOP COPING - START CREATING
When you are simply coping, you are settling for second best, tolerating more than you should, and functioning in survival mode. Coping infers that you are making it, but it also alludes to the possibility that you have more on your plate than you should have in order to operate at your optimum. If you are simply coping, you probably aren't
having much fun.
Moving from "coping" to "creating" is a pretty major shift for most of us. It requires honesty, a desire for change and a rough idea of what some alternatives might be. Working with a coach through this process is extremely beneficial.
We know that we are endowed with enormous mental, emotional and sometimes physical capacities that we can take beyond normal limits when required. But when we are on overload, there isn't room for anything new. When you are in "coping" mode, you justifiably feel there isn't time to do anything else except struggle through. When there isn't room to dream, to laugh and to love your
life, there is no life to love. As coaches, we believe you have the answers, but there may be a lot of clutter that hides them from view.
What's to create? Mental space for new ideas, plans, strategy....
Spiritual well being for peace and joy to be a normal part of every day...
Reserves of physical energy so that you live in a state of refreshment rather than fatigue........
Some of the most successful leaders know the value of creating room for the untried and the fertile soil for ideas to grow. This could be you!
KEY QUESTIONS:
1. What is standing in the way for you between coping and creating?
2. What can you eliminate from your routine to make room for something new?
3. What would have to change to create the life you believe could be yours?
